Rajasthan On Wheels Train Tour
Day 1 : Delhi
On your arrival at the New Delhi Railway Station, you will get a warm welcome after which you will begin your weeklong odyssey on the Rajasthan Royal on Wheels. The train will depart the New Delhi railway Station for Jaipur around 6.00 pm. Relish your sumptuous dinner onboard at 8.00 pm. Overnight onboard.
Day 2 : Jaipur
On reaching the Pink City of India, Jaipur, you will be accorded a traditional welcome. During your sightseeing tour, you will visit Hawa Mahal, Amber Fort, Jantar Mantar (the largest observatory built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh) and the City Palace, etc. You can go shopping. Jaipur is famous for jewelry, handicrafts, carpets, blue pottery and textiles. Return to the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels around and head for Jaisalmer.
Day 3 : Bikaner
Bikaner is renowned world over for its handicrafts and leather articles, for its palaces and for having Asia's biggest camel farm. Bikaner is also famous for its intricately carved Jharokas. The red sandstone stone jalis (screens) are found on the windows of the Junagarh fort, temples and havelis. Other must watch places include Laxmi Niwas Palace, Lalgarh Palace, Moolnayakji, Laxmi Nath temple, Kolayat, etc. The city is also famous for its “Bikaneri Bhujia” and its sweets.
Day 4 : Jaisalmer
Royal Rajasthan on Wheels will arrive Jaisalmer, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Rajasthan in the morning. Jaisalmer is also known as the Golden City of India. Golden fort and beautiful havelis (mansions) have made the city popular in the world. Places like Patwon ki haveli, Nathmalji ki haveli and Salim Singh ki haveli are worth visiting and a must watch. For shopping, Rajasthali is the place to be. It is the only emporium of Rajasthan Government that offers mirror work and embroidered articles, fine pattu shawls, trinkets, wooden boxes, silver jewelry and curios. If you are an adventurous kind of person, you will love camel ride on the sand dunes of Sam.
Day 5 : Jodhpur
The second largest city of Rajasthan, Jodhpur is fortified by a high stonewall with seven gates and several fortresses. Mehrangarh Fort, Moti Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Phool Mahal, Sileh Khana, Daulat Khana and Umaid Bhawan Palace are the places of tourist interest.
Day 6 : Udaipur
The super luxury train, Royal Rajasthan on Wheels will reach Udaipur on the morning of sixth day of Royal Rajasthan on Wheels Itinerary. Udaipur is also known as as the City of Lakes. Visit palaces, forts and temples. Other two worth visiting most beautiful landmarks of Udaipur are the Jag Niwas (Lake Palace) and the Jag Mandir, located on the Lake Pichola.
Day 6 : Chittorgarh
Chittorgarh is popular as the city of bravery and romance. To save the dignity and respect of the beautiful land of Chittorgarh, the Seventh century Chittorgarh Fort has witnessed many wars. Other places to visit in this fort are Vijay Stambh (Tower of Victory) and the Kirti Stambh (Tower of Fame).
Day 7 : Bharatpur
The Royal Rajasthan on Wheels will reach Bharatpur early in the morning. Bharatpur is famous worldover for Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary, aka Keoladeo Ghana National Park. You can spot a number of colorful varieties of birds including the Siberian Cranes.
Day 7 : Agra
On your way to Agra, you will get to visit the sixteenth century historical town Fatehpur Sikri. It was constructed by Akbar. See the largest gateway in the world -- Buland Darwaza, the Jama mosque and the tomb of Sheikh Salim Chisti, a famous Sufi saint of India.
Reach Agra. Visit magnificent Agra Fort, Red Fort. Then visit the world famous one of the seven wonders of world -- Taj Mahal. Mughal Emperor Shah Jehan constructed the symbol of love, the Taj, in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. Relish the delicious dinner on board the Rajasthan Royal on wheels and leave for Delhi.
Day 8 : Delhi
The Royal Rajasthan on Wheels reached New Delhi Railway Station in the wee hours of Sunday. At New Delhi, your journey comes to an end. Take your sweet memories of lifetime with you.
